Early Doors series 3...?

:) I've been looking for the latest updates on a possible 3rd series of Early Doors.

A lot of different and old comments, does anybody have the latest on this?

I read somewhere Craig Cash did have a 3rd series in mind.
He's probably filming "sunshine" with Caroline Aherne now, maybe around Christmas...

I hope someone has some fresh news about this. Otherwise we have to start a petition to get a 3rd (and 4th) series on the air :D

I guess that no one else has any thoughts on this.

So for what it's worth, I personally wouldn't get my hopes up. It's been 4 years since series two, and although longer absences have been known, I would think that the cast and crew have decided to move on by now. Revel in the splendour of the 12 episodes you already know and love, rather than long for another 6 which might not be up to par. :)

No news of a third series yet, but from the 13th Jan BBC Four will begin repeating Early Doors*... these new repeats, along with the very well received Sunshine and The Royle Family, should hopefully help head things towards another series being commissioned?

(* Rather randomly its going to be paired with repeats of the 1990s airport sitcom The High Life.)

Wow. That must be being re-released then!

Ooh, yes, indeed it is. February 23rd 2009.

Early Doors repeated, brilliant, I loved that.

Both series' are a fiver in HMV.

Series star John Henshaw lives round my way and my brother saw him in the pub yesterday. Instead of leaving him alone, he walked up to him and shouted 'To the Regiment' Anyway, apparently John is a really nice man. A great actor also.

He asked him whether there will be a third series and Henshaw very much doubts it.

I know this is an old post but how did I manage to miss the original series of Early doors?

I spotted it last week on BBC Four (I think) and watched it for the first time. I immediately set up to record the series.

Oh such great gags and lines in it. A Good old fashioned sitcom where great laughter and pathos go hand in hand.

When they paid for whatsits phone bill by doing football cards was genuinely touching.

And the quiz night with the coppers cheating was very funny - with the question 'What is the capital of Chile - is it Con Carne'

This show deserved prime time.

One of my favourite comedies ever and criminally-overlooked.

Fantastic show. Definitely deserves a third series.

I loved it at the time, but when I've watched the repeats I've not been that entertained. It seems (to me) it is a 'one viewing' type show.

Still head and shoulders above most other stuff about.

There was talk of a third series, but sadly it looks like it's not going to happen. I always hoped that the character of 'Jim Royle' could make a short appearance - he's so tight he'd probably get a pint out of old Tommy!
