Unable to remember a BBC sketch show from the late 2000s

This may well be a useless and unhelpful post, but I will try describing it as best as I can.

There was a sketch/prank show (quite certain it was BBC) - at the expense of the general public, in similar mould to 'Trigger Happy TV' of Channel 4.

The main character (I think he wrote this also) can best be described as slightly camp in nature and tone (Cross between Julian Clary and Joe Lycett).

The only sketch I can recall was some pub scene. The main guy was winding-up this beefy working class type, who I think he called Phil Mitchell, which wound him up even further. The bloke squared-up to the main guy and during this, the beefy working class guy had his drink in his hand, which had a straw in it also, whereby the straw accidently inserted up one of his nostrils. This was hilarious as it was unintentional and messed with this thug's vibe.

I cannot remember much more but I reckon only one series was aired. Maybe it wasn't very good in hindsite, but I remember it got a fair bit of coverage before and during its airing.

It's not High Spirits with Shirley Ghostman? That's the only BBC3 prank show I can think of with a vaguely camp central character.

No - doesn't seem to be that.

The main chap also reminded me of Jools Holland too.

Sounds a bit like Antoine De Caunes.

Could it, in fact, be one of Dom Joly's other shows?

World Shut Your Mouth or Fool Britannia, maybe?

Is that all you can think of? As I said it sounds like Antoine De Caune.

It's the Pranker :) (which I also noticed is on Aaron's list there!)

Went to YouTube and they have the sketch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BICWsDrEZNA

Exceptionally well-found!

I'm sure there's people with far larger quantities of comedy trivia in their head, but that part of time (late 2000s/first half of 2010's) kinda sticks because I was even more aware of comedy at that point than usual as I was dead-on writing loads myself :D

Bit too late for an old fart like me. ?
