RIP John Challis

RIP John Challis - best known of course for his role as Boycie in both Only Fools and Horses and The Green Green Grass. As I'm a massive My Family fan as well, I'm going to watch the 2007 Christmas episode Ho Ho No as a tribute to him tonight as well, since he was in that too as Jacob Marley.

Don't know whether he deserves his own thread -hardly a massive star.

RIP Boycie

Sad news. A really lovely man by all accounts.

I'll bet he was in the Sweeney or Minder at some point.

Yes 1975.

Damn The Green Green Grass was a lovely show plus his Benidorm character was sublime. "Chips AND Rice".

Surprised he never wrangled a guest spot on Still Open All Hours as Marlene did. Will miss his unique talents.

Yeah I believe OFAH, The Green Green Grass and My Family (even tho he wasn't a main character in the latter) were the only BBC sitcoms he appeared in? I've got two of them sitcoms (the two being OFAH and My Family) on DVD as well

A good handful more. See the news link I posted above or the link of the big header image at the top of the page for just a few.

Time to pull out my Old Guys DVDs. Still can't believe Roger Pack/Clive Swift are gone and now Boycie and Trigger reunited. We are losing some comedy talent these last few years...
