Yes I just read that. A brilliant singer. Delta Dawn was another about someone who was slightly deranged plus Ruby Red Dress.

I see from IMDB Softly was back in 76.It doesn't seem like that long ago.
He was also in A for Andromeda .That was good SF for the time.
