These pandemics are just about impossible to stop........................China's authoritarian governments could have done so, but they failed. They failed the entire world. And I doubt this will be the last time.

If we're blaming countries for natural disasters then Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunamis that savaged South East Asia are in part down to America (Bush and Trump) denying climate change. Trump has clearly miss managed coronavirus (as has the UK) and of course, he was going to point the figure at; Commies, Mexicans, Hilary, Obama, I get that. I hope he continues doing "no wrong" Economically, for a good long while...

I'm sure some of you lefties have had an IC pulled out from your PCB

I'm sure some of you lefties...

Really ?

Better a 'lefty' than some mindless zombie who sits there going 'yes sir no sir three bags f**king full sir' whilst they're glorious leaders make a total shambles of everything

How dare you be concerned about climate change you lefty fool!

F**k sake...

Why so called intelligent people believe a word Trump says is a mystery to me.

I didn't know people still used the term 'lefties'. Probably because most normal people don't.
A bit like yuppies, Champagne socialists, prawn cocktail offensive. Back to the 80s!
Even complaining about political correctness seems pretty old fashioned now.

Normal?

I'm not sure that the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, caused by an undersea earthquake, can be pinned on George W. Bush. I also don't think a zoonotic virus outbreak stemming from negligent hygiene at crowded animal markets and slaughter areas can be deemed a "natural disaster".

I wonder if PC Principal in South Park will this year be put out to pasture, joining Officer Barbrady and Mr Hanky?

"Lefties" now outscores "left wing" - though one can play with statistics to prove anything. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=lefties,left%20wing

Lefties is not in my lexicon. Such a lazy, derisive term. Like fundies. As for "foodies", jesus wept.

Clearly, the very planet itself hated George W. Bush!

Obviously Bush didn't cause Katrina any more than Trump caused COVID-19. Both handled them very badly though.

With a population the size of America's you would think they could elect someone who hasnt got a brain like a turnip just occasionally

Nixon, carter, Reagan, bush and his odious creature of a dad too - and now the king of cretins - Donny

Aye caramba

Please explain your assertion regarding Katrina.

Those men are/were smart individuals who were dedicated to the nation and its citizens.

That article is almost completely devoid of substance.

The British government has done a pretty bad job too.

I'd say it was much closer to terrible - too late starting lockdown, refusal to get ventilators from EU, half a million masks for NHS ordered costing us £250M which couldn't be used, leaving care homes unprotected then blaming them for the huge death rate, reopening pubs on a Saturday, keeping beaches open in heat waves and most of all the now Officially declared, until they rubbish the researchers as politically motivated, Cummings Effect. Self serving, detached from reality idiots. Pirate
