Glorious

Power,etc..... is the only album I have of theirs ,never been tempted to buy any other. Is there a better one ?

I mainly just like the early stuff- still plenty of guitars

Their later stuff is too 'dance' and poppy for me

Technique is pretty good too

Thanks.

Shara certainly kept fit singing with MA

That reminds me of the 70's :)

Proper proper reggae !

Technique is good, PCL their most experimental and Substance the ideal compilation. Take or leave the rest, though Mucous Complete was a pleasant surprise after years of crud or, even worse, silence to walk away in.

I just watched the Madness film. Take it or leave it.

Cheers Mike. Bernard should have kept to the guitar and not attempt the singing.

They're ok but overrated. People fell for the cooldom - Joy Division, Tony Wilson, the Hassie and Dry bar, enigmatic song titles and artwork, aloof attitude to promotion etc etc... Strip it all away and there aren't many classics from a band that's never definitively split in forty years. The great thing about being a Beatlemaniac is there's always something 'new' to track down.

hearing the first side on Abbey Road I remember thinking, this is not very good,Octopuses Garden and Max's hammer etc... and then I changed my mind.

I like Maxwell. It's a fun breather after the intense first two numbers and the perfect metaphor for life.
I said to Paul McCartney, I really like the second song on Abbey Road. He said, That would be Something.
