Old Mother Riley, Headmistress (1950)

I don't think I'll watch anymore of these - although made in the 1950's (just) this silly slapstick is so dated. It looks like Arthur Lucan is stuck in pre war second rate humour mode and knows nothing else...............probably doesn't.

Thought it my improve on previous, but no and thank heavens it was short.

Strange now looking back at these, because when I was a kid I thought the likes of Old Mother Riley and say Mr. Pastry were hilarious......................now, nothing, and I see that Renown are touting box sets of both - er, no thank you.

I find Old Mother Riley and mr pastry a painful watch as you the comedy slapstick is not funny

I went off Mr Pastry when he was made US Secretary of State.

Thrrrrrrrump - Tishhhhhh I thangyow.

That's reminder me actually of Peter Sellers calling all Americans "Herns" because he reckoned that when you got a load of them together talking in a group you are not in, it sounds like "Hern, hern, hern.............", which is so true from my days working on the US bases.
Same principle over here of "Rhubarb, rhubarb............", of course.

I was taken by an aunt to an Old Mother Riley film, she laughed anyway.
