Comedians: Home Alone

This has been more consistent than you might think, but my highlight by some margin was Mackenzie Crook's sketch at the end of tonight's episode.

Very hit and miss - I enjoyed the Tim Vine ones early in the series - completely off the wall.

I'm watching last night's (Episode 5) of "Comedians: Home Alone".

London Hughes was visually stunning: the black skin, the sparkling eyes, the brilliant red lips and the dazzling white teeth combined to deliver a feast for the eyes. I can't remember what the voice did so I'm guessing her material was unremarkable. A bit like watching a porno movie: as long as your eyes are kept busy, you're not really bothered about what they're saying, are you?

When Rosie Jones came on, I decided to make a cup of tea - not because I don't like her comedy, I do!

The thing about Rosie, however, is that if you go to the kitchen to make a cup of tea while she's on, as long as you remember the last word she said before you leave the room, when you return with your cup of tea you simply take that word and the first word you hear upon your return and, by using the rules of English grammar, you can usually work out which word she must have said between the two.

Okay, she's not got the snappiest delivery in the world but she's very likeable, she clearly loves what she's doing and, all things considered, she does it well. She really draws the audience into the experience, her material is streets ahead of a lot of other TV comedians and, as if that were not enough, it's perfectly tailored for her. I don't know who writes it but he/she is to be commended.

Was Tim Vine in this series? Wasn't he in the Matt Lucas thing on C4?

I think so, yeah. That series was a bit patchy to be fair.

I had the privilege of London Hughes appearing in my sitcom a few years ago. It was only a cameo role as a bank customer service employee, but she completely stole the show. Marvellous.

That's what I meant. He was never in this series.

:S I'm sure he was, or maybe I am thinking of the Matt Lucas show - all very similar.

Definitely very similar. Not criticizing - Tim Vine may actually have been on both shows. Was just trying to clarify for myself.

Nah, just checked iplayer - must have been the Matt Lucas show "Reasons to Be Cheerful".............I'll get me coat.

Just watched the last one, and FINALLY managed to laugh out loud with Morgana Robinson turning to New Age spirituality, and esotericism to get her through her day - VERY FUNNY!
