There was a young woman on radio
Whose knowledge of hygiene was too low.
She took her young daughter
To learn what she oughta
From teachers with soap and a hand blow.

Cool.

I like the title of this one and at my age it has some meaning.

to A Horseradish, adding after your Tom Waits suggestion.

Tom Waits in "Russian dance" at the end says "give me more, give me more, one, two, three, four" in Russian.

I adore his album with Crystal Gayle,
but all his albums are among my most played over the years. All in all he's an epitome of an artist.

Totally agree on the Waits and Gayle album. I think it is absolutely FANTASTIC and have always been keen on both these artists. Gayle might just be my favourite country singer of all time. I'm not quite sure. My favourite albums by singer songwriters (and bands) are very often not among their most popular or most critically acclaimed. With TW, they are Closing Time (very early - 1970s) and Rain Dogs which while big sometimes takes second stage to Swordfishtrombones.

This is very popular song from soviet series about 2nd World War, it it called " Do not think about moments with disregard", - melodic and sombre at the same time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOS1YxYa3Mk 1st episode of the series (called "17 Moments of the Spring") opens with good piano music as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTiR1E60fXk

It reminds me of "Dark Eyes" which has a big Ukrainian connection and is one of the very few songs I can play in a basic way on the guitar: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Eyes_(song). In fact, here is my TV lesson with it in. At a guess I would say it was in 1974. I watched it from my spacehopper. I didn't get where I am today without the late Ulf Ahslund.
