If you mean albums, I've always loved The Head on the Door.

Disintegration is also really good, and has some heavier, darker tracks, like the two Lofty and I posted above.

I'm also fond of their second album, Seventeen Seconds, which contains one of their best known songs, A Forest.

If you're checking them out on YouTube first, then maybe go chronologically, so Seventeen Seconds, followed by The Head on the Door, and then Disintegration.

I've got loads of their stuff inc. remixes and live albums. They're one of my favourite bands, and one of the few I've never stopped listening to regularly.

Thankyou.
I've got the afternoon off,so that will give me something to do :)

Oh yeah, it's not compulsory to wear eye-liner when you listen to them, but hairspray is a must!

Before I considered your recommendations I thought I'd take pot luck.( My hair has never been the same since the dog buried it in the garden.)
These two I like:

Good picks! Based on those, you might want to check out Faith.

Their Glastonbury performance last year was a triumph, and would make a good introduction.

I watched it at the time, and recorded it, and have watched it again since.

Thanks George.
I'm just realizing I've got a lot of catching up to do.

yw :)

Gave me an excuse to watch/listen to their Glastonbury set again. Noticed this time around that Robert's vocals slip a bit around the 45min mark for 10-15 mins, then seem to get back on track again. (I'm at 1.05 as I type this.)

I did something similar with Dr. John last summer, just after he died, and his career span is even longer. Got hold of nine of his albums, never having listened to him properly before, or fully appreciated him, but he suddenly clicked with me. Seven of the albums, ranging from 1971-2012 I really like, and play regularly.

I'm sure I'll pick up some more of his back-catalogue in future.

Sonic Youth's "Washing Machine" album. 1995, if memory serves.
