Sitcom spin-offs Page 3

Well he thought wrong then. Extending an already successful show with a true spin off on BBC instead of detaching it from the show and airing it on a new channel with no real viewer base would've made Fairly Secret Army a lot less secret than it unfairly is. I've never seen again since and am unlikely to as C4 aren't known for their archive channels unlike ITV. Angry

Rosie has to be added.

Spun off from The Growing Pains Of PC Penrose.

I find George and Mildred superior to Man About The House. As good is Frasier is, Cheers is the one I love. And Porridge was perfection, Going Straight was a tough act to follow.

Was the later sitcom a spin-off from the earlier one or was it essentially a continuation of the same sitcom with a not-very-different title (Rosie and PC Penrose are the same person) and a not-very-different location (he moved from one police station to another in the same county)?

I admit to have not having seen Rosie, but I was under the impression it was a continuation. I.e. sequel rather than a spin-off.
