To be fair I didn't think the penalty should've been given. Technically a penalty possibly but only from one angle did it look like one and it took forever for the ref to make her mind up. Not clear and obvious then, so why go to VAR in the first place? Most refs wouldn't have seen that as a penalty so let it go. If they are going to send every little thing to VAR because one team claims a penalty or offside or whatever then games will go on for two hours and be rubbish to watch.

USA are streets ahead because of their equality rules and funding but Dabutt have a word with them about lording it over everyone they beat even before they've played. Arrogant and unsporting. The world will soon tire of watching a team so well trained they win everything all the time but still go OTT celebrating.

I do get a bit bored of this same old story playing out at every single football tournament. Plucky old England plays well but gets knocked out. We're all sad but not too sad as there's plenty to hope for in the future. We've been hoping for over fifty years, time to get a new storyline.

Well at least the England Ladies football team have finally achieved parity with their male counterparts. After the disappointment of being knocked out the 'If onlys' sound exactly the same!

Whilst it is true the yanks were the better team for large parts of the game, it is also true that we lost by small margins. The Girls fully deserved to stand toe to toe with the best team in the world. Well done, and bring on the Euro's and the Olympics.

Keep that memory of the games if you've only got terrestrial TV 'cos as sure as eggs is eggs the leech that is Sky will get their grubby hands on it.

The Beeb promotes it, Sky steals it - bet they are apoplectic they can't get their hands on Wimbledon.

Sky have said that if the England cricket team get to the world cup final, they will put it on a free to air channel.

What, as a punishment.

It's looking extremely likely now too.
