I wouldn't tweet the puns as they won't then be Tim Vine's and he's not likely to use them. I should think even tweeting a request to supply him with puns would be politely declined or ignored. As we know from posters on here there are people willing to savage comedians and other stars for recycling/using/stealing others' jokes.
And he's already been through one accusation. I shouldn't think he'd want to go there again.

Yes, many years ago, after reading Bob Monkhouse's biog., I knew his address at Claridge's (his farmhouse home) so wrote and told him how much I had enjoyed it (he was criticised at the time for some of his revelations relating to Frankie Howerd).

Amazingly (I thought) he wrote back to me with a hand written letter to thank me, so feeling now that we were great buddies I naively sent him some of my jokes (I was into writing comedy then); BUT he sent my list back with again a polite note thanking me and saying something along the lines that he hadn't read the list for professional reasons (fear of it popping up in his act?) as he only used his own material, which was fair enough - after all, who the f**k was I?

But the experience gave me an even greater appreciation of the man, after all he took the time to write to little old me.

It's to be all official and done through agents - a paper trail if you like.

And that is even if they accept material. (which the agency in the first instance will always say 'they don't')

Thanks Stephen, but it's only a minor thing in my life now as I've had years of bashing my head against a brick wall with script editors telling me the rules and then see them broken by other script writers on the same programme (Hale and Pace notably - what a f**king twat their editor was!) OR seeing the material you had turned down appearing the following year virtually verbatim, as what happened with one of my sketches on the Brian Conley show.

F**k 'em - had enough of that shit.

So now I put up with the double standards sending in questions for quiz shows. Glutton or what?
