RIP Windsor Davies

Windsor Davies has died. Such a good actor, in so many stuff. I was a fan of him in the later Carry On films and he was very funny in It Ain't Half Hot Mum

Oh dear, how sad and we do mind - RIP Mr Davies, no one could have played that Sergeant Major so well as you did.

Gosh, I had no idea he had still been alive up until now. Always perfectly cast for bristling bombast. I don't know if there's much love for Never The Twain, but I always enjoyed the two leads.

Dear, sad, mind:(

From me there is. I watched it very casually off and on first time round and quite liked it against all the pompous criticism it got from over serious TV critics but when ITV3 repeated SOME a few years back I immensely enjoyed it. Two great hams trying to out project each other in a knockabout sitcom based on childish rivalry is a real joy guilty or not.

Agree with all except the so much stuff. I just looked up his TV ography and was surprised to see how few things he was in. A very underused actor imo. But thankfully did a lot of ads and his two sitcoms had very long runs. Thought he and Jack Douglas were a superb combo that saved Carry On Behind.

Sad news indeed. He was a great comic performer. I'm sure he'll be fondly remembered for decades to come.
