Is the 30 Years of Last of the Summer Wine documentary included?

No idea, I'm afraid - but it seems very unlikely.

The whole series just went on far too long and they should have called it a day when Bill Owen died or even when Brian Wilde left for the second time. In the later years, the show was for "hasbeens" to get some work on TV and certainly not as good as the first six series were, when the cast was much smaller.

The box set is out now, and cut to a bargainous £55. That's a whopping 54 discs.

In my opinion, series should have ended when Compo died. He was the star of the show IMO, without him, the show wouldn't be the same. Bargain for the boxset though. Was almost £150 a couple of months ago. Tempted to buy, but there is a lot of DVD's I need to get though!

Agreed. Could not justify the time (money no object) to devote to a series I only had a passing interest in, as like you I am still wading through box set presents from at least 5 to 10 years ago, and now am about to buy the Bilko box set and second DVD compilation of the Q series from money/vouchers.

If anyone's interested, a recent interview with Roy Clarke, most in depth one I've read. I'm not always a fan of his work but there are few writers I respect more for putting the work in! http://summerwinos.co.uk/?p=2795

Yes I thought early LOTSW was a really good watch and a decent sitcom. It would be regarded as a classic had it not been drawn out so long and dredged for every drop of nostalgia.
