Or was Brexit partly about making sure such arse-wittery would not take root?

Sadly not.
Take a straw-poll of these dimwits and you'd probably find they're all for breaking up Europe as well.
They want their country back.

Angry

Great news - hopefully!

Zimbabwe army ousted Mugabe! (If I understand it right!)

E' ba gum!

Crooked thieving despot

Good to see it remaining calm there and I hope it stays that way. Just saw a report and the streets showed the military presence and citizens going about their business among the armed soldiers and tanks parked in the roads without confrontation. No gunfire, no explosions, no screaming. I bet the tabloid c**** are praying for something more meaty to happen.

What a surprise! Who would've predicted this?

It was part of the fun trying to tear the tax disk from the perforated holes without ripping it in half
And then re-sticking the tax disk holder back to the windscreen without it falling into the passenger well every two minutes.

It used to be so simple.
Different expiration, different colours.
Plod could stroll along a side street and spot them a mile off.
Now they have to either go into 'the system' or wait till the DVLA gets round to it.
Love it when a plan doesn't come together.
They should just junk it and put the money on the fuel - fairest way.

Good idea! You use a car - you pay for it.

That was in the days when Plod walked along streets ("Evening all...")

And if you use an electric car, you don't?

And if you use an electric car, you don't?

Just tax electric cars then!

The govmnt will have to tax electric cars somehow, eventually, but they are unlikely to do that while trying to encourage changing to 'cleaner' vehicles from 'mucky' vehicles.

Perhaps a tax by mileage with some sort of sealed certified mileage recorders built into new cars, with SMS (mobile phone txt) readout like the home gas/electric 'smart' meters.

If they get the science right you'll probaly be able to pay your tax by offering up some of your stored electricity to the grid.
