Whoa, I did a Trump/Irma press conference sketch! But I'm sure they got dozens of them... any chance it had anything to do with the shooting at Irma news story?

I think it was mentioned :)
Hope it was yours!

Thanks Bonzo
Also sketch on robot teachers.

Strong one liners too. Well done to anyone who had work performed on the recording. No obvious cuts.

Oh yes! That got a lot of laughs!

We had a oneliner in there but won't hold my breath as they did tons!

That's an awful lot of sketches?!?! They usually only broadcast 4 or 5 on the actual broadcast if I remember rightly. Does that list include one-liners as well? Thanks for the info!

No- doesn't inc oneliners - there were loads of them!

Thanks Bonzo. I wrote a sketch about Jacob Rees-Mogg changing a nappie. I suppose someone else could have as well...

What's Newsjack's target audience?

At the writers briefing in January, they told us it was younger than average for 4 Extra, but still quite a mixed age group.

I've been to a few of the recordings and, indeed, it has been a mixed age group in attendance - uni students all the way up to retired folk.

Who knows? Who cares?

Presumably, the BBC know. I'd be quite interested to see the viewing figures, especially in comparison to other Radio 4 and 4 Extra shows. Viewing figures play a major part in determining how long this show will run for. It's (as far as I'm aware) the only regular open-door opportunity to have short-form comedy on BBC national radio and it'd be a shame to lose it.

. I'd be quite interested to see the viewing figures

The viewing figures for radio tend to be about zero.

It's on its 17th series and started in 2009 so am sure somebody must be listening.
Thanks Bonzo! Sounds like my Theresa May Streetmate sketch didn't make it. Fingers crossed for the one liners!
Well done everyone who got on.
I've only ever had one liner on and it was on my first attempt - is this usual?

It's not unusual.
They must read everything as they Emailed me to say I'd sent too many one-liners. This makes absolutely no difference to the chances of my total, utter f**king useless awful puerile pathetic bollock bullshit pisspoor monkey shit getting accepted but -a- I thought it was nice and -b- it implies they must take every sub into consideration.
(I know I wrote this on another thread, but when Mel C got married, people said, Are you like really sad? I said, No. Because it makes absolutely no difference to the chances of me and Mel C.)

Nice. Very productive. :)

Fingers crossed for my oneliners.

I've come to the conclusion after multiple failed sketches that it's maybe not my forte!

Ah I wrote a clown phobia sketch but it involved Piers Morgan, so don't think that was quite topical enough.

Best of luck to everybody!

The emails are imminent!!! If you don't make it remember there is always the communal joy of the "Newsjack Rejects" thread tomorrow!

Good luck chaps!

I am bracing myself for a feeling of deflation... Good luck all.

We got the nearly email. Good luck everyone:)

Didn't get an email. Guess I struck out this week.

Best of luck guys.

I'm in! Good luck everyone!
