Another word for destroyed used in the context of...

Can anyone think of a less heartless, cold, demoralising word as destroyed when used by production companies regarding not wanting submissions? The following sentence is common. Anything submitted to us will not be read and will be destroyed! It sends shivers down my spine. There are many production companies set up by comic actors and writers of note. They too use the word destroyed. Please excuse me if I don't applaud the reincarnation of Alan Partridge. Steve Coogan being a partner in a production company. Or the prospect of another Walliam's and Hart production. I will not be putting cornet to mouth as a fanfare to the news that Bain, Armstrong and Clarke have set up a new production company. A sad day for any would be comedy writer.

They are simply telling you that your work will not be returned. Destroyed is a pretty good word for conveying this.

Deleted is the new destroyed.

"Will be passed on to the Labour Party." ?

Will be read out loud in a darkened room to those suffering from Trump Hysteria Syndrome (THS).

It's leading you to believe that what you send them won't be plagiarised.

Believe that, you will believe anything.

(Not you personally by the way - just a rule of thumb from personal experience)

Recycled?

Yeah, I've seen recycled used. It sounds much nicer.

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

Just some light ribbing.

I was going to hold your coats...

Thank you for your comments. I read each with interest.

I've heard 'shredded' used, but I guess that only applies to physical copies.

In this informationally technological world, 'nuked' is better.
