RIP Val Doonican

Not my cup of tea, but a stalwart of 60s and 70s TV so deserves some recognition.

Off to the great rocking chair in the sky (ironically).

No - not greatly edgy but I think a genuine bloke and apparently just what you see. RIP.

Well you say that, but I met a dancer a few years back who said that behind the scenes he was a stickler for perfection and if he didn't get it he would give you a tirade of just about every swear word you can think of.

RIP too. There do seem to be quite a few deaths recently.

...celebrity deaths....

But not the right ones.

RIP to a legend . I'm gonna get there somehow is one of my favourite songs.

If anyone can,
Val Doonican.
Some say
Sarah Millican
Too.

People called Val often do well. Val Parnell, Val Kilmer and so on. Mind you, Val Thorens had his ups and downs.

It's perhaps a good thing Val went when he did.

I hear Operation Yewtree were about to interview him in connection with several offences involving Paddy McGinty's goat.

Elusive Butterfly is a beautiful song, both by Val and the writer Bob Lind. Talking of less successful Vals, Val Derma got under my skin..... (probably not made anymore)

I used to like The Happy Wanderer song chorus - "Val-deri.............."
