The future of writing sitcoms Page 2

Most naive writers think they can write a TV sitcom and get it produced, but there are far less TV sitcoms produced than Radio plays/programs.

So it is probably best to start with Radio scripts and get yourself known and then move on to TV.

I reckon the future of writing sitcoms will involve filling up blank pages.

Not sure it's naive. People do make the breakthrough without radio. That said, radio is a great way in and it certainly helps when I talk to producers about my previous work. Strike up a dialogue with a producer and they can be quite helpful.
