Asylum - Series 1

So far, so 'meh'. A tiny bit like a modern-day politicised 'Porridge' with about 23% of the wit.

It wasn't too bad. I didn't laugh but I enjoyed it nontheless.

I shall give Ep2 a whirl though. This three episode truncated series lark is becoming very commonplace now isn't it?

'Porridge'...

The "bed scene" really made me think of 'A Night In'.

Me too!

I wish that the media would stop making light of Asperger's and using it as an excuse for odd/geeky behaviour. It's no picnic to live through, let me tell you.

...and with that; I'll admit to a tiny crush on Mr Novak.

I really enjoyed the first episode. Perhaps not the funniest start a sitcom has ever made, but for something originally announced as 1x90min, it wasn't going to be a riotous caper. Particularly enjoyed Miller's performance.

Wasn't there an old TV series called Asylum with Simon Pegg or did I dream it?

I liked it, although Demri-Burns' accent wandered and got a bit annoying. Miller was excellent. Not every gag/scene hit home, but it was fun.

And a good sit com set-up: definitely one to file under Why Didn't I Think Of That?

There's been a few shows like this recently such as Dol & Em, enjoyable but don't make you laugh. Are these actual comedies?

Just watched and must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good laughs and definitely current.
Glad to see some writers have the moxie to take swings at today's 'heroes'.

There was indeed. 1996, Paramount Comedy Channel.

Was the show cancelled or was it only a 3 episode series?
I really found it hilarious, no matter what the usual naysayers may nag about.

Just a three-parter. Fingers crossed for more.

I've seen the first three episodes and I'm thinkin' Ben Miller has done much better. It's funny but it could be a lot better. There's only three all together? He left Death In Paradise to go back home, I'd think he would have had better options.

Hello DannyJB1?
Mm.. if this is his last post he has in fact been gone for some time.. :(
