Angry Back Poem

I have trapped a nerve in my back and I am in excruciating pain. It hurts when I get up or down and even if I just sit still. I am in so much pain I wrote a poem called 'Oh Back' :

Oh Back, why
Do you make me try
To walk funny
Like a Duracell bunny
Left out in the rain
At least I have a cane
To help with the pain
Pain that makes me insane
Oh Back, I hate you

Now that is from the heart. Pretty angry stuff huh?

good poem, ouch though, is there nothing that can be done for your poor back.

Ouch, sounds horrible, wish you well.

Like the poem though, Don't Look Back In Anger comes to mind ;)

oh very nice shandy

Thank you Sooty, I thought that up while drinking a Champagne Supernova...enough!

What are you doing for pain relief Dererenz?

I did the same thing in 2011. I saw doctors and a physio. Nothing can be done except strong painkillers and some TLC. Basically it sorts it self out over time.

Glad you like the poem. Yeah it's simple and silly but it conveys how I feel.

Shandonbelle - So far I have some dihydrocodeine 30g which make me a little sleepy and prone to write silly poems, and the doctor has prescribed some cocodomol 15g yesterday.

Hope you're better soon Deferenz. Backache is horrible.

I like the ending. Angry stuff.

Anything with codeine should help so you're on the right things, also try hot and cold compress.

Did you get a roll with it?

Hope you feel better soon Console. Nice poem too - least you're being creative with it.

I'd suggest trying a decent osteopath. In the interests of being transparent here, my wife is an osteopath, but it seems to work for people.

I wrote a few poems/limericks/haikus in case you can't sleep (in a variety of flavours):

Oh spine
You used to be fine
Now I wish you weren't mine
Now I'm laid up in bed
Feeling half dead
Just lying supine.

Deferenz had a really sore back
That gave him a painful attack
He waited and waited
Till the pain abated
It really just needed a crack

If your nerve is trapped
Go see an osteopath
You'll never look back
