Why such a name..don't ask.
I'm here to find or hope to find some suggestions how good stuff/funny to read.

I like "High fidelity" -Nick Hornby (but that's the only one of his)
I like "YES MAN" (again only his first ones)
I like "Three men on a bender" -Patrick rossi

If you could please suggest other titles.
And if someone sais something stupid like "Hitchhikers way to the galaxy" by god, even though I'm not a moderator, but I new..I'll ban you from this site.

Btw: I like Americans and all..but everytime you asked them (in forums) about good comedy books they say the same three things: Japser Fforde, Douglas Adams..and the book Catch 22..
all of which are boring..the latter , even though I admit the quirkiness,etc..etc..is boring in the long run.
I'm just hoping to find new blood.
Again, I bought it. It's on my kindle. Now, my fingers are crossed.

OK. Got it and read it.

Not all of it, I'll explain why.

First off,I thank you for pointing out this writer I would HAVE never come across if it wasn't for this forum.

(usually, when I ask for writers, I get a list of the usual bestsellers or authors..).
(Other thing, I have no T.V at home (woman's decision), so I read probably more than most).

OK about the book: At first I thought it was about a postman, therefore I was delighted when I found the main characters a chubby dude (with fat fingers ). And when the book starts off in the classroom.
It was very funny,very funny.

But the book reads more like a series of skits. It's almost every chapter is 30 SITCOM episode.
Liek each chapter stands on it's own. It's not a book to rush through, doing that would be like watching 10 simpson episodes in a row..by the 6 th episode your tired of them.
(for the record I read about half)..Now I want to use it, for like, when I'm in the bathroom, and I only have like 5 minutes, then I'll read an EPISODE.

Tom Sharpe's stuff is quite gentle comedy, but well done.

Porterhouse Blue is my favourite Tom Sharpe. It was adapted for television in the eighties, worth watching if only for Ian Richardson as the Master of Porterhouse(a fictional Cambridge college, not based at all on Peterhouse)and David Jason as the college porter.
