David Renwick in fine form.

I like their F.U.N.E.X? Sketch

Here's

Benny Hill- Fun in the Kitchen http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8z94e_benny-hill-fun-in-the-kitchen-hq-or_shortfilms

Cheers Magnus, enjoyed that one. Benny Hill in his best era, early 70s. Brilliant delivery, material funny but stretched, in truth. Many of his sketches could do with tighter writing or editing, but maybe he needed longer ones to fill out the show, TBHS was an hour long, with ads. Or maybe he was just indulgent, never really worked out which it was, but indulgence was a BH trait.

Not sure about the other four, but I'd definitely have Ted and Ralph from The Fast Show, and Ted telling Ralph his wife has died during a drinking game: "Tomato - Ted - aubergine - your - potato - wife's - turnip - dead."

Laughing out loud

I seem to remember posting this some time ago on some other thread. . .

Back again, just wanted to add this sketch to the list. I think this one is debatable, but imo its one of the finest sketches of the modern era for how it blends comedy and a serious tone, its one of the only times watching a sketch show where I've been genuinely moved-

Mitchell and Webb- Old Holmes

Good call

M&W sketches are very hit and miss IMO

But when they're good they're good

Oh yes, that one almost made me cry when I first saw it.

Not sure if many will have seen this as I don't think this was broadcast in all of UK. Burnistoun is a bit hit and miss, this is a def hit

Robb Wiltons Fireman sketch

Two Ronnies Racing Pigeon sketch

My top five sketches personally are (in no particular order):

* The Two Ronnies - Mastermind.
* The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer - Masterchef.
* Monty Python's Flying Circus - The Mouse Problem.
* That Mitchell and Webb Look - Anxious Nazis.
* John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme - Goldfish wishing for a better memory.

The Mastermind sketch is indeed a thing of beauty. It always annoys me when people think Ronnie Barker wrote it though.

I once heard pretty much the exact sketch on The Burkiss Way

obviously the questions were different

But it was the same premise

Don't know who got there first though

I think we've had this before. The Burkiss Way was written by Andrew Marshall and David Renwick. The Ronnies Mastermind sketch was written by David Renwick. Seems like the person who got there first was the same person.
