I'll explicitly give a vote to the Conservatives.

The mind boggles.

Still, it's one way to remove the oranges.

Certified X.

Not your first post to which I've wondered if any line has the remotest relevance to another?!

Aaron I think its reference to Tory Mps who enjoy auto-erotic asphyxiation.

Which is quite hard to say with your mouth full

I agree with Russell Brand, why vote when you know it's not going to make any difference?

Ah, but if everyone who said that voted what a difference it would make!

But who would they vote for?

Do you always check your independents? Could be one of those you'd like.

Doesn't really matter - whoever closest resembles their politics. Better than having governments chosen by a quarter of the electorate.

And that.

Yes - quite right.

It psychedelically blurs Tory MPs who enjoy auto-erotic asphyxiation and the unfortunate Coalition with the Liberal Democrats whose colour is orange. It does much the same with the cross placed in the box and an early system of film classification. Of course, it all hinges on the word "explicitly" which initially suggested a pornography-in-a-polling-booth gag. That, though, was rejected as it was all done in the 1990s - probably in Surbiton.'If he was intending to vote Labour, I wouldn't have had a 1960s theme for obvious reasons. As it is, I admit to being somewhat gobsmacked though not in a Milliganesque sort of way. The poor chap!

If it doesn't matter who I vote for is even worse than not voting. If people aren't voting it's because they don't have a party who resembles their politics. A better option would be for people to spoil their votes, that way we can prove we are interested, but don't feel represented.

Politicians are far too removed from the real problems facing youth who have little hope.

I do tend to vote for independents actually, mostly because I've met them and know they care.

How's that career in card writing gags going for you?

Well if you vote Labor instead of Conservative they're cuts maybe 5 percent less, they may choose a less private orientated needs assessment company than ATOS.

Ok so its not a workers utopia, it is potentially thousands of disabled people not stripped of homes, money and dignity. Or traffic wardens and youth workers fired.

But I guessthat's no difference.

Or you could join a party and lobby from within and maybe part of something exciting, like repealing section 28 or free school dinners or university for all who are bright enough, or just votes for everyone of an age.

All these things happened because passionate, hardworking people strove and fought for them.

That this conversation is even happening, is on the one hand democracy in action and the other beyond depressing.

One only has to look to the Arab Spring to see when governments don't need to worry about a democratic mandate they don't worry about killing people in the street.

This conversation is beyond depressing. And one of these days all those f**king idiots who say why vote, will get the government they deserve.

Except by then it will be far too late.

I let others think exclusively about careers. The ones who don't "do" dialogue. :)

It's precisely because they don't vote they get ignored.

If you're politics take place in empty violent protests and romantic, la la dreams of an anarchist utopia then you deserve all you get.

Oldies vote, join political parties and lobby MPs.

Thats why they get none means tested benefits, don't sell their houses to pay for care and all the other goodies
