Count Arthur Strong DVD Recall

Can someone please help me with this?

The Series 1 DVD of Count Arthur Strong which was released on 19th August 2013 has been recalled due to a fault with the picture quality, I have sent an email to DVDsupport@bbc.com and they just sent me an automated response which made no sense at all. I have then just sent another email to DVDenquiryline@bbc.com and that was exactly the same.

Can anybody urgently help me on this one?

It's an automated response. They will reply at some point in office hours. It's not a special Count Arthur e-mail address.

:P

I'm not really bothered, Oldrocker. I have watched the whole DVD two times over now and I have no concerns at all with the picture quality, I just wanted to send it back because the BBC want it back! They did manage to get back to me yesterday and just said that "they were looking into it" so it's not as easy to get a replacement as what Aaron and Graham Linehan had said.

I'M AFRAID!!!!

Laughing out loud

From the CAS Newsletter received today . .

It has emerged that the first batch of Count Arthur Strong Series 1 DVDs released to shops were manufactured incorrectly, resulting in the picture quality not being as desired.

The BBC has confirmed the issue and set up a process by which fans can get a fixed version. If you have bought a Count Arthur Strong DVD and it has a red triangle in the top right hand corner of the cover you may wish to consider getting a free replacement by emailing the BBC's general DVD email address DVDsupport@bbc.com you will receive a reply to your message after a few working days days (but expect a delay as the BBC is likely to receive a lot of emails).

Yes we already know about it, Oldrocker. Did you buy it aswell?

I've not seen/heard CAS, but I presume that joke's how it sounds? When did it first occur, and from which version/episode?

(Just curious cos Rich Hall has had that joke as part of his set for years)

I think that gag was in the recent TV series (not sure if it was originally on radio- or would work there).
Count Arthur was handed a small acting role, and could not get the emphasis at all right, massively overacting the 'I'M AFRAID' bit. With hilarious consequences.

It was featured in episode 5. https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/count_arthur_strong/episodes/1/5/

As said above though, it may have featured in the radio show too. I forget.

Still haven't heard back off the Beeb regarding the DVD error.

I've heard all the radio shows a number of times and I don't recall having heard this before the TV show.
