Getting comedy 'out there' today has never been easier. Web sites and social media give you a starting point. Pushing it further and achieving a much wider audience is the tough bit.

Here at Spooky Kid Productions in sleepy Norfolk we've given it a go in 2013.

We began the year with a 13 part audio comedy series, Bramfield 24

and we have found a young animator who is willing to animate a series of sketches we've written, the first of which, Batman's Insurance Call, is almost ready to rumble.

Watched the Sealed Envelope of the crap magician. Bit like a Viz strip. But a bit long and too obvious. Perhaps needed a twist. Audience (volunteers for trick) were too polite - almost as if humouring a 7-year-old magician. Maybe fun to see something closer to a parody of the grotesque charlatan Derryn Brown - à la the old David Blaine parodies on YouTube.

And the Coin Bite - the highlight is about 2.20-22 - where the geezer in the blue t-shirt does a funny walk after looking at the fallen magician. It's only a few seconds, but he steals the show. Great comical walk.

Kenneth, thanks for taking the time to look at the sketches and comment. Much appreciated. As Kenneth was my Father's name I feel duty bound to acknowledge your response.

On reflection I have to agree, the first one is too long. The others all come in at around 3:30 which is a better length. I also love the short but brilliant cameo at the end of the coin bite.
