The Duke Wore Jeans
In the musical classic The Duke Wore Jeans, Tommy Steele plays the dual roles of Prince and Pauper: both as a chirpy Cockney Lad bearing an uncanny resemblance to a local Duke, and the young Duke himself.
Tommy is sent in the latter's place to woo a princess from an oil-rich South American monarchy, to make a political match and save the Duke's family fortune. Faced with the interference of conspiring politicians, not to mention the Princess' own stubbornness, will Tommy win her over with his serenades?
