The Chain

"Moving house - It's the biggest upheaval money can buy!"

Bamber (Warren Mitchell - Till Death Us Do Part) is a removal expert and philosopher extraordinaire. In a fit of optimism he schedules his removal men to undertake seven different moves in one day - all of them interconnected. It may be all in a day's work for them but for the families concerned, moving house is a harrowing experience, fraught with problems. Each person has their own particular reason for moving and each reason has a curious affiliation to one of the seven deadly sins...

Smoothly directed by Jack Gold (The Naked Civil Servant) from a script by Jack Rosenthal (Ready When You Are Mr. McGill), The Chain is a hilarious "what if" story that can be appreciated by anyone who has ever moved house. Available for the first time on DVD, this film features many fine comedy performances from the likes of Denis Lawson (Bleak House), Phyllis Logan (Lovejoy), David Troughton (A Very Peculiar Practice), Nigel Hawthorne (Yes Minister), Leo McKern (Rumpole Of The Bailey) and Bernard Hill (Lord Of The Rings).

Jack Rosenthal's pilot for Moving Story - a reworking of the characters and themes presented in The Chain for television - is presented as a special feature on this release.

If you are in the North America, look out for US/Canadian flag icons on popular product listings for direct links.

If you order from a UK store, please note that the UK is in Region 2 and B, respectively, for DVDs and Blu-rays - check your player's compatibility, or look for multi-region products if you are located in another region.

If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B).
