Best mates Dave and Ferris, Tolly, and boss Jeremy, are very normal, underachieving, dysfunctional everymen who are either having sex, or on the lookout for it.

Screeching through the streets of Walsall in their potato van, Dave and Ferris call upon a stream of regular customers, some of whom they are more friendly with than others. Ferris has split up with his wife and is currently living with his mother-in-law, whilst Dave has just been thrown out by his. He imagines the split will unleash a new wave of sexual freedoms with the women of the midlands, but reality quickly proves to be some way off.

Ferris, meanwhile, is known for his generously proportioned appendage and has a regular store-room liason with one chip shop worker in particular; but things get very weird very quickly when she invites him to her house! Meanwhile, it seems even his mother-in-law, Joan, has heard word of his endowment...

Then there's manager Jeremy: obsessed with a woman he dated briefly, but who dumped him when she discovered he was not, as claimed, a successful dentist - can he win her over or is there a new man in her life? Kidnapping her new dog is probably not the best start.

And Tolly - Tolly's got a thing for strawberry jam. Strawberry jam and fish paste. It's best not to ask.

These are the escapades - and sexcapades - of the potato men.
