Details about the Bad Education film have now been revealed by producers.

Tiger Aspect and Cave Bear Productions are behind the film, a spin-off of the hit BBC Three sitcom co-created by and starring Jack Whitehall.

They have now confirmed that Sarah Solemani, Mathew Horne and Harry Enfield will all star alongside Whitehall in the movie, as his fellow teachers from Abbey Grove School.

Jack Whitehall said of the project, "It's very exciting to be bringing Bad Education to the big screen. It's great to be reunited one last time with my amazing class of kids before they get ripped apart by puberty.

"We wanted this film to be about the mother of all school trips but sadly the Cumberland Pencil Museum wouldn't let us film there so we have gone for Cornwall instead."

The sitcom follows Alfie Wickers (Whitehall), a teacher who is far out of his depth in a south London secondary school. Many of his pupils are more adult than he is - luckily for Alfie, headmaster Fraser (Horne) is even more childish, and his biggest fan.

Bad Education began on BBC Three in Summer 2012 and was the channel's highest ever rating for a debut comedy, being watched by a cumulative 3.5 million viewers across the BBC platforms.

Its second series became one of the most-viewed shows on BBC iPlayer, receiving 2.9 million requests. A third and final series was broadcast late in 2014, and saw Alfie quit teaching as he couldn't bear to be without his class as they graduated and left the school.

The student cast of Ethan Lawrence, Layton Williams, Nikki Runeckles, Kae Alexander, Weruche Opia, Jack Binstead and Charlie Wernham were all revealed last week to have signed up to the project.

The Bad Education Movie is currently in its second of a five week shoot, currently on location in Cornwall. The film will be released by Entertainment Film Distributors.
