Originally scheduled for a 6-week shoot, the film was completed in just four.
A sequel was planned titled Nearer And Dearer, but this first film was not deemed successful enough to put it into production.
Whilst Tom Brennand and Roy Bottomley wrote the screenplay, chunks were adapted from original TV scripts, including those of creators Vince Powell and Harry Driver.
