Burglar Sammy Field breaks into the wrong shop and steals medical instruments instead of silver. Keen to be rid of the goods, he infiltrates a dental college to try to get rid of the array of instruments as quickly and with as few questions asked as possible.

He quickly manages to catch the attention of a pair of young, broke students. David Cookson and Brian Dexter agree to sell the "bankrupt stock" he's purchased, on to their fellow students for rock-bottom prices - with a small cut for themselves, of course. An initial sale is predictably successful with the hard-up trainees, but when David's love interest, Peggy, spots a newspaper report about the dental supply shop's burglary, the group begin to panic.

Not keen to face the law as accessories to theft, the trio resolve to retrieve all the instruments they sold. Unfortunately their fellow dental trainees are less than keen to part with the bargains they secured, so when Sammy arrives to collect his cut of the sale, they rope him in to help. It's not long before the police turn up at the school though, and Sam must go undercover as a regular student to avoid detection.
