Pen was kidnapped by gypsies as a baby and lived in a bivouac crafted from inner tubes until the age of eight, when she escaped by disguising herself as a cooker and was sold as scrap. Writing comedy became Pen's escapism from her lonely life as a rusty oven in a breaker's yard.
Befriended by a local colony of rats, she started an open mic club called 'The Big Cheese' which won her international acclaim in the rodent world.
Pen now lives in the air conditioning duct of a penthouse suite in Docklands with her life partner Mr Squeaks.
