Lost Voice Guy searches for his Geordie accent

From the guttural Glaswegian of Billy Connolly to the Estuary English of Ricky Gervais, the voices of stand-up comedians are often as distinctive as their gags. That was no different for Lee Ridley.

The only problem, as Ridley, 40, would often observe wryly during his sets, was that the "posh Robocop" voice was not his.

A look back at Come Back Mrs. Noah

Come Back Mrs. Noah may be emblematic of all the worst excesses that 1970s comedies are chastised for, but it's not beyond reproach. The series revels so vigorously in the ridiculous and the corny that it feels like an absurdist exercise in what's possible in a 7pm sitcom.

Valentine's Comedy Night review

11 David Brent one-liners that will make fans laugh

Let's be honest, David Brent is one of the greatest television characters of the 21st Century.

The BBC sitcom is notorious for its cringe-worthy gags and brilliantly awkward humour, delivered mostly by Brent himself.
