Sean Fee interview

"Write down things that make you laugh. That's my whole process."

Liam Brennan

Banish stress with improv class? You having a laugh?

Unlike most workers at this stage of the pandemic, Liam Brennan still relishes his video calls. "I'm in a position where a Zoom meeting isn't a 'What the hell am I doing?' task," he said. "I know it's going to be a laugh for two hours." Brennan, 32, has reasons to be cheerful. He is an improvisational comedy tutor at Hoopla, reckoned to be the country's oldest dedicated improv theatre, and leads online classes most nights while its site near London Bridge is shut. No two sessions are the same, but all are full of silliness.
