Finger Award for comic that makes a difference launched

A new award has been set up to recognise comedy projects which aim to make the world a better place. Judges in the Finger Awards considered more than 80 candidates from more than 30 countries for the inaugural accolade. The winner will be revealed at a ceremony hosted by former TV executive turned comedian Cally Beaton next month as part of a broadcasting industry conference.

Last Christmas: review

There were fine performances from Henry Golding and Emma Thompson (co-writer) as Kate's Yugoslavian mother. She delivered some of the best lines and was a wonderful breath of fresh air and vibrancy to the film. A disappointment and a big one at that was the relationship between Kate and Tom.

First acts announced for Aberdeen Comedy Festival 2020

Organisers are promising a bigger and better event - the fifth - running from October 1 to 11, with Scots comedy star Gary Meikle headlining at the Music Hall on Friday October 2. He is joined in the line-up by rising stand-up star Tez Ilyas who will play the Lemon Tree in the opening weekend with his show Populist.
