Profile from our 'Make It' Directory...
I have just finished my degree course at York University, while I was there I loved setting up and performing in an improv group there which had regular audiances.
I both performed in the panel game element and wrote most of the sketches for the York Comedy Society's radio show on the student radio station and helped to write the show the society took up to the Edimbrough Festival.
I love the medium of radio especially for comedy because you can do so much more with it. You can go for wild outrageous settings and "visual" effects without them looking stupid or unrealistic, all you have to do is find an interesting enough sound effect. I have written one sitcom draft but have so far only sent it off to the BBC Writersroom, where it has been recieved but I have heard back the result of that yet. I am working on another sitcom based ona nature reserve with an overzealous corperate sponsour and I am also working on an idea of a sketch show "The forbidden tapes" the idea being that two archivists find a secret passage to a room with forbidden tapes containing either terrible puns, "bad" acting and other comedy of the sobadit'sgood variety.
Apart from writing I would love to perform as a voice actor on any radio comedy projects.
