Profile from our 'Make It' Directory...

I started performing comedy at a young age and now at the age of eighteen I am begining to show how versatile a performer and writter I am. I began at an early age, performing live mainly doing character acting before going into stand up comedy. My first taste of a live audience was when myself and a group of friends performed our own 'Little Britain Live' for Red Nose day 2005 which we recorded and added to the DVD that we had made of the series. After this and after I had left school, I started bringing my own brand and style of comedy to the stage performing stand up between 2005- 2008. I decided that I feel comfortable enough on the stage to leave it for a while to concentrate on writing and character performing again in front of the camera, since I last performed stand up in the summer of 2008 I have created and starred in two Mockumentaries. The first one being 'Backstage' in which I play a low budget film director called Steve Kent who is fasinated with Ricky Gervais and believes that Ricky Gervais is actually the man David Brent, where as we all know he is just a genius comic creation. He is so fixated on this idea that he takes David Brent's morals into his own work and treats people as David Brent would, just a whole lot worse. He is sexist, racist, midget...ist and all the ist's in the dictionary, he constantly puts people down whilst walking around on set doing no work at all and expecting the actors of the low budget 'Ghostbusters Re-make' to jut know what they are doing, well at least he thinks he does until they take a stand against him and kick him off set, but is this the last we have seen of Steve Kent?...
And then my second comic creation is the one that I am currently working on. It is my very own comedy Mockumentary creation 'Back To Class'. I co-direct, co-write and co-star in the Mockumentary which is due to be screened at Exeter's Picture House in the summer of 2009. I have co-written the mockumentary with James Cotter entitled 'Back to Class'. I play Keith Aspin a music teacher with aspirations to reach the top of the music charts with his own album of covers entitled 'Overdose on Aspin'. James co-stars as an ex-army media teacher called Lance-Corporal Mark Rodgers who still thinks he's in the army and has a tendency to flip at any point. The demo pilot entitled: 'Thank You For The Music' was a success and now plans for a pilot episode entitled 'Does Your Mother Know' are now well under way. The first series is also being written as well as the pilot, with the show taking a sitcom approach now rather than mockumentary. I am working on several stand up routines, one routine for next christmas inparticular entitled 'Dogging Around the Christmas Tree'.
