Marking its 43rd birthday today is the legendary BBC sitcom Sykes, starring and written by Eric Sykes, with the fantastic Hattie Jacques, Deryck Guyler and Richard Wattis as his identical twin sister and neighbours. Running for 68 episodes over 7 series, it was itself a refreshed revival of the earlier series Sykes And A..., which had already clocked up 60 episodes over 9 series from 1960 to 1965. Guide
