The Titfield Thunderbolt
A very early film for Ealing Studios, produced in 1952 and released the following year, The Titfield Thunderbolt was in fact the prolific studios' first colour comedy, made with the then still new Technicolor system. The fabulous cast includes Stanley Holloway and Sid James, telling the tale of a small village facing the closure of its railway, and its reluctance to give in - especially when faced with the mean-spirited monopoly of a newly formed local bus company instead.
