After Henry
The magnificent actor Prunella Scales CBE - much loved by comedy fans for her timeless role as Fawlty Towers' Sybil Fawlty - turns 83 today. She is of course best remembered as John Cleese's even more acid-tongued wife in the late-70s classic, but it's far from her only contribution to the world of comedy. Also up there is After Henry, which transferred successfully to ITV in 1988 after three hit series on BBC Radio 4. Penned by Simon Brett, the show co-starred Joan Sanderson (Fawlty Towers' Mrs Richards) as the mother of Scales's character. All four TV series are available on DVD. Guide
