German comedian Henning Wehn has been given his own six-part stand-up series on Radio 2.

The comedian, who has lived in Britain since 2003, calls himself 'The German Comedy Ambassador to Great Britain'. He has previously joked "This is not the easiest of jobs, because Germans allegedly do not have a sense of humour... I don't find that funny."

Wehn will present Henning Knows How To..., a show in which he will 'deliver his unique views on British life in the form of hilarious comedy lectures'. Each episode will focus on a different theme, with Class, Sport, Languages and Humour amongst the topics selected. Each of the six instalments will also feature a different guest comedian.

The comic is not a stranger to radio comedy, as he is regularly booked to appear on panel shows such as The Now Show, The News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth and Fighting Talk. He was also a regular on the last two series of Out To Lunch, the now defunct Radio 2 stand-up showcase hosted by Russell Kane.

Henning Knows How To... is likely to be just one of a select handful of new comedies on Radio 2 next year. The network has announced that it is "scaling back" on the amount of comedy it produces, as the BBC continues to implement its 'Delivering Quality First' initiative (essentially: budget cuts).

This new show will be recorded at The Drill Hall in central London on Saturday nights in January 2012, with the show expected to be broadcast on the station in the spring.
