The BBC is to celebrate Ronnie Corbett's 80th birthday with a new one-off comedy show.

Corbett, who came to prominence in the 1960s via the topical comedy show The Frost Report, and went on to star with Ronnie Barker in a number of shows, including The Two Ronnies, will be 80 in December.

To celebrate, BBC One is recording a one-off show at Television Centre, with the working title The One Ronnie. The diminutive star will host the show himself, and will feature a mix of his classic material and "brand new sketches written by a selection of the best writers in the business."

A number of guests are also expected to appear on the show, with Little Britain stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams currently confirmed.

The One Ronnie will be recorded on the 21st November. To be in the audience see our free tickets page
