The refreshed Through The Keyhole panel show format will return for a second series on ITV later this year.

Originating as a brief segment on ITV breakfast station TVam in the 1980s and later a hit BBC daytime light entertainment programme hosted by Sir David Frost and Loyd Grossman, the format was reborn in 2013 as a comedy panel show.

Now hosted exclusively by Leigh Francis - in character as the larger-than-life Keith Lemon - the programme sees two celebrity guests join DJ and regular panellist Dave Berry to work out which other celebrity's home Keith has visited.

Lemon presents a look around three different homes in each episode, with a mix of clues and red herrings for the panel to pick up on in order to identify the mystery owner of each property.

Launching in a Saturday late-prime time slot on ITV at the end of August, the first series attracted a healthy average audience figure of around 4 million viewers. A Christmas special was commissioned, and broadcast in mid-December to 3.72 million.

Recordings for the eight-part second series will begin in May at Pinewood Studios in South Buckinghamshire. Tickets are not yet available but a reserve list to find out when they are released is now accessible via our free tickets page

Talking about the new series, Keith Lemon comments: "Can't wait t' start through t'keyhole again. I can't fink of what's suitable to describe my excitement but it is the same excitement I have when I'm participating in extreme sports or making sweet, sweet love to a beautiful woman."

ITV's Elaine Bedell says: "Through The Keyhole was a brilliant comedy entertainment hit for us last autumn, and we're really looking forward to Keith poking around more celebrity pads, plus more in studio fun, with series two."

The second series is expected to be broadcast in a similar late-Summer/early-Autumn timeslot later this year.

A selection of video clips from Series 1 are available on our guide to the programme. Here is a teaser trailer released in advanced of Episode 1:
