Richard Ayoade to star in U.S. IT Crowd too
NBC have said Richard Ayoade will be joining Joel McHale and Jessica St. Clair to film the pilot episode of their re-make of The IT Crowd.
Ayoade will reprise the role he originated in this US pilot. He plays Moss, the highly intelligent IT technician who has no social skills.
American actor Riley Smith will take on the part of Roy. Much like Chris O'Dowd who had that part in the UK version, Smith is a relative unknown to audiences. Meanwhile Jessica St. Clair will play their boss, Jen. Her previous work includes For Your Consideration and the host of 'The Soup' on the E! Entertainment channel.
The pilot, which will be filmed shortly, has been adapted by David Guarascio, Moses Port, Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. Series creator Graham Linehan will flying over to America to act as a consultant.
Richard Ayoade was last seen on our screens in October when he starred in the spoof chat show 'Man to Man With Dean Learner'. He will also be starring in another series of the 'The IT Crowd' which is returning to Channel 4 this spring.
