Enter the Musical Comedy Awards 2015

Musical Comedy Awards

Entry is now open for the WeGotTickets Musical Comedy Awards 2015.

The competition, which is open to all UK-based musical comedy acts, kicks off with heats in mid-January. The organisers say: "If you like to combine music with comedy in any shape or form, then this is the competition for you."

The Awards, which are now in their seventh year, have previously featured contestants such as Abandoman, Frisky & Mannish, Carly Smallman and Jay Foreman. The 2014 winner was up-and-coming comedian David Elms.

To enter, acts should fill out the online form and upload a video of them performing to the MCA Facebook page. The best will then be selected to take part in heats at The Phoenix in Cavendish Square (London), with the dates for these shows due to be announced shortly.

Aside from the prestigious title, the winner will receive a £500 cash prize, whilst the act deemed Best Newcomer will take home £200. In addition, this year an 'audience favourite' will be awarded a cash prize of £300. The organisers explain: "This will be decided by our sponsors WeGotTickets and their decision will be based on which act received the best reception from the audience in terms of laughter and entertainment. It is possible that the judges' favourite (MCA winner) and audience favourite could be the same act."

The deadline to enter is Saturday 13th December 2014.

How to enter
