Doc Brown to mentor comedians via Noise website

Noise Festival. Ben Bailey Smith

Ben Bailey Smith, aka Doc Brown, has been named as the Comedy & Spoken Word Curator for the Noise Festival website.

Noise describes itself as "Europe's biggest open community for the best up and coming talent who want to break into the Creative Industries, network and self-promote with a killer online portfolio recognised by top professionals."

The comedian - who regularly performs his trademark comic raps on the live circuit, TV and radio - is also a writer and actor. His credits range from CBBC's 4 O'Clock Club to Rev. He has also notably collaborated with Ricky Gervais on the comeback for David Brent, and appeared in Derek.

Smith will rate the submissions from undiscovered comedians and spoken word artists that are uploaded to noisefestival.com and offer mentorship and career guidance to his top choices.

He explains: "You upload content to NOISEfestival.com and I am going to rifle through that stuff, the very best I am going to mentor and try and help out, and try and get your career off the ground."

Ben talks more about what he's looking for in this video:
