Kevin Bridges, Simon Amstell & Dara O Briain lead Latitude 2014

Jack Dee's Help Desk. Jack Dee

2nd June update: Jack Dee has joined the festival with his new comedy format. In Jack Dee's Helpdesk the grouchy comic is joined by a panel of comics (including this time Jeremy Hardy, Seann Walsh and Katherine Ryan) to offer advice on audience members' problems. He is promising the audience that in now way will their issues be "ridiculed in front of a live audience". Here's hoping!

Also just added to the line-up is Mark Watson, Vikki Stone, Ed Gamble, Matt Rees, The Pin, Massive Dad Sean McLoughlin and The Monster Comedy Shed.

Kevin Bridges, Simon Amstell and Dara O Briain have been announced as the main comedy headliners for this year's Latitude Festival.

Set to take place between Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th July 2014 in the grounds of Suffolk's Henham Park, this will be the ninth year of Latitude. Comedy is taking an increasingly important role in the festival's line-up, with the confirmed list for the Comedy Arena now bigger than ever before.

Amstell and O Briain had previously been announced by the festival's organisers, however Bridges (pictured) is a new announcement for today. The Scottish stand-up is only 27, yet is impressively commanding star headline status here. With a default of playing city-based arenas, Latitude will offer comedy fans the rare opportunity to see him in a more intimate setting.

Other notable names on the list of comedy performers at the festival include gag merchant Milton Jones, Last Leg star Josh Widdicombe, the quick witted Andrew Maxwell and long term festival favourite Marcus Brigstocke. Also attending, and running a saloon show this time, is Al Murray.

All styles of comedy are catered for, with Tim Key, Josie Long, Cardinal Burns, Doc Brown, Miles Jupp, Seann Walsh and Nick Helm amongst the other bookings.

There's veterans on the bill like Jeremy Hardy and Arthur Smith, at the same time as up-and-coming comics like James Acaster and Liam Williams.

If stand-up isn't for you, there's plenty of sketch and musical acts as well. Look out for the likes of Max & Ivan, Pappy's, WitTank, Late Night Gimp Fight Jonny & The Baptists and newly crowned Musical Comedy Awards winner David Elms.

There's surreal comedy from the likes of Tony Law, improv from super slick The Noise Next Door, character comedy from Jamie Demetriou, thoughtful comedy from The Sunday Assembly, and something a bit different from The Only Way Is Downton.

Latitude

An international flavour is brought to proceedings too, with the likes of Trevor Noah, Katherine Ryan, Tommy Tiernan, Henning Wehn, The Pajama Men, Felicity Ward, Glenn Wool and Hannah Gadsby all set to attend.

OK, we're just going to have to finish this article off by listing a load of other people in one big block. There's some superb people in this list - we've just realised this page will never end unless we just turn the rest into a list...

Sara Pascoe, Kerry Godliman, Tiffany Stevenson, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Roisin Conaty, Joe Lycett, Mike Wozniak, John Kearns, Tom Rosenthal, Aisling Bea, John Robins, Nish Kumar, Eric Lampaert, Celia Pacquola, Suzi Ruffell, Alife Brown, Bobby Mair, Pat Cahill, Angela Barnes, Phil Wang, Ivo Graham, Tania Edwards, Kwame Asante, Joseph Morpurgo, Harriet Kemsley, David Morgan, Jonny Pelham, Dane Baptiste, Gabby Best, Sarah Callaghan, McNeil & Pamphilon, Cariad Lloyd, Louise Ford, Holly Burn, Brian Gittins, Ian Smith, Sam Simmons, Rhys James, Frisky & Mannish and Pete Johansson are some of the other names performing.

We've probably missed some performers here... but you get the idea. There's lots of comedy on at Latitude! There's really no need to even bother with the other genres on offer at the festival, like music (although, for the record, the headliners in that area will include Damon Albarn, Two Door Cinema Club, Editors, The Black Keys, Haim, Kelis and Billy Bragg), there's enough comedy to keep you entertained across the four days.

If that line-up has tempted you, then it is time to know about the ticket prices. A weekend adult ticket is £195.50, which includes camping and the booking fee. There's various other tickets available too, such as day passes.
