Rex is a book-keeper in the accounts department of International TV rentals and, although he is the senior member of the team, he is ineffective and constantly in conflict with his colleagues, Harry and Burke. His wife, Susan, is the driving force in their relationship and keeps pushing him for greater success in his career. Their boss, Mr Fletcher, rules from his office where his secretary, Carol, is always on hand to give extra assistance - in and out of the office!
